Another Body post

OK, so The Body are coming back to Jacksonville, FL. These guys never cease to amaze me with their music, side projects (Dead Times, Siege Engine, Lorna Doom) and the bands they tour with (Bonedust, Whitehorse and now The Assembly of Light Choir). This time around they are travelling with a 14 member womens choir called The Assembly of Light Choir also from Providence, Rhode Island. The choir is featured on "All the Waters of Earth Turn to Blood," The Bodys newest record. The music is innovative and weird, yet totally heavy.
The show will be opened by blackened thrash riff masters Hot Graves and Jacksonvilles heavy duo Civilization. This show marks the end of Civilization for an unknown period, but is very special as new people are created and old friends are seen. Civilization's first tour was with the Body in 2006 spreading over Florida in 6 days. HOT GRAVES is another great band who we've played with several times around Florida over the years. Hot Graves is also the newer project of Mike who was previously in the great gainvesville band THEE KVLT OV OVROBOROS.

Flyingsnakes show 2/18/11
FLYINGSNAKES come from St. Pete with some serious, heavy metal riffs, thus the name of their CD and Cassette release of "Bludgeoning Frequency" on Financial Ruin Records. Their sounds will be more punishing as they are now a 4 piece with the addition of another guitar.

Its obvious I have a double crush on Chip and Lee of The Body. Civilization played five shows around Florida with them in 2005 and a few since then in Jacksonville. They will be back on tour in Florida and east coast to make up for the shows they had to cancel back in September. Check out their tour dates..

This will be fun for sure, Shantytown is my favorite place for punk shows by far. Hallelujah's always been good, the new three piece lineup is super heavy and they all do vocals. I'm pretty sure this is Ghost Horse's second show, they'll be tight playing screamo styled hardcore. I don't know much about Dead Yet? other than that their from Savannah, GA and have members from Bottled Violence (Minor Threat cover band) and a member from Black Tusk? Either way, they look like ragers and Savannah always puts out good bands.

twelve hour turn reunion
HOWDY! These guys are doing a few shows to commemorate the 25th year of No Idea Records and an 8 year reunion.
October 27 - Ring of Fire, St. Augustine, FL
October 28 - Sinclair, Jacksonville, FL
October 31 - Fest 9!, 8 Seconds, Gainesville, FL

The St. Augustine show was super fun! The guys sounded like they had never stopped playing. The tones, vocals and performance was fantastic for 8 years apart.
Jacksonville was no different, except microphoned drums and cabs and on a stage. I'll be getting pictures from the Jacksonville show from Josh or Matt's dad..haha
