Steve Ignorant Presents The Last Supper (Crass Songs 1977-1984)

CRASS. I fucking love Crass. I guess I was in middle school and they were the first punk band I really cared about enough to buy all of there CDs (and Christ the Album on cassette). I'm not really sure why I didn't buy any Crass Vinyl, as I was buying some vinyl at the time, but whatever. I was mostly into the British "UK82" style and liked all those bands. In these years (late '90s), many of those bands were reforming and starting to tour the U.S. The SUBHUMANS and (Charged) GBH were a couple that actually came through Saint Petersburg, FL. I always wished I could have seen Crass.

Weeeellllll, as of mid-last year, Crass' original lead singer Steve Ignorant, has been performing Crass songs with a backing band known as the Last Supper. The name and tour signify a last hora for Steve and the songs and last chance to see and hear them played as close to original as its gonna get. The tour makes its way to the U.S. in March here is the schedule:

Thursday MARCH 10 New York, NY @ Santo's Party House
Friday MARCH 11 Montreal, QC @ Le National
Saturday MARCH 12 Toronto, ON @ The Opera House
Sunday MARCH 13 Chicago, IL @ Logan Square Auditorium
Wednesday MARCH 16 Seattle, WA @ Neumo's
Thursday MARCH 17 San Francisco, CA @ Slim's
Friday MARCH 18 Pomona, CA @ Fox Theater
Tuesday March 22 Austin, TX @ Emo's
THURSDAY MARCH 24 ATLANTA, GA @ MASQUERADE
Friday March 25 Baltimore, MD @ Sonar

I'll be making my way to the Atlanta show. I'm not sure if its a complete schedule, there are some holes, but also long drives, and their old.

Here is the song "Bloody Revolutions", maybe my favorite. it was released in 1980 as a split 7" with the Poison Girls (their song "Persons Unknown" is also really good..actually all Crass bands are really good). The song gives you a good idea what the band is about and sounds like... its also pretty epic for a punk song with many different changes in timing, vocals and harmonies.
Enjoy... and GO SEE CRASS!!
