MONARCH is now a "local band" / WHITEHORSE
Monarch! has picked up Rob from Dark Castle as their touring drummer.
They have members from France and maybe Australia and now Saint Augustine!
I guess it was a couple months ago Rob texted me and asked if I had any Monarch records because he had to learn the drum parts for a West coast tour. I was just like, "WTF! thats freakin rad".
Now hes touring Japan and Australia playing some of the most extreme live doom/drone out right now.
I love to see friends doing what they love and being successful.
check out MONARCH!

Speaking of Australia and doom, the band WHITEHORSE is coming to America for a tour. That link will show you the dates, they have a few dates in Florida -- Pensacola, Tampa and Gainesville. All the east coast dates are with The Body. Its weird, I met the vocalist Pete 6 years ago in Richmond at Best Friends Day 4. He was staying at the house I was staying at and we started talking. He gave me the Whitehorse Caverns CD. Its 27 minutes and 12 seconds of pure grief.

R.I.P. This Bike is a Pipe Bomb (1997-2011)
Sad news the other day, Florida greats This Bike is a Pipe Bomb are splitting after 14 years due to the loss of their drummer. The first time I saw them was at the Ernest St. House in 2004? Then multiple times at The Pit in Riverside, Harvest of Hope and Gainesville Fests. Their shows were always the biggest, craziest and positive (!)
It seems they will be residing in Chattanooga, TN where Terry and Ryan's other band Zippers to Nowhere is based.
Terry, the bassist/vocalist also owns Sluggo's, a full vegetarian restaurant in Pensacola, FL and Sluggo's North in Chattanooga. I've also had the delicious experience of eating at both locations.

Civilization house show
We played a house show in Deleon Springs, FL just outside of Deland. Idiots on Ice (Treymon from Soulman and Breeze) and Critter (Nathans band who set up the show) played as well as Roamers (Josh's new band with Stuart). The show went really well, no cops, nothing stupid, just fun nice people dancing, singing and crowdsurfing. heres a link to Josh's pictures.

Chandeliers//Shrines
These are chandeliers and shrines we came across. Its funny to see what your attracted to and take pictures of when your traveling. Keep checking back for other stuff!!
This is the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia, PA. A rad group of people set up shows in the basement! This is the actual church part which doubles as the back stage for bands. Food and water in the pews!
This one was probably the best. I'm pretty sure it came from One Eyed Jacks in New Orleans, LA.
This is the hallway in a hotel we stayed at in San Diego, CA, it was a Ramado or Holiday Inn or something. The hotel is a converted from an old bank, the vaults were still there and other nice embellishments. Priceline.com is where its at! I couldn't rotate the picture for the life of me, just turn yr head.
This was at a club somewhere, sorry can't remember.
This is my friend Sarah's mom's house, she is a spiritual adviser and has a ton of Buddha statues and other relics from world travels. Sarah has done merch for a million bands, she was with High on Fire when I met her and now is working with Kylesa.

merchin'
Ok, so I suck at taking pictures and remembering to take pictures, so I don't have a lot and the ones I do have are blurry or whatever. I'll be posting groups of pictures from the tour.
This was taken off of the Brooklyn Vegan website. Thats me on the left, that show was in New York City at Gramercy Theatre. I obviously didn't take these, thats why they look pro. The BV link has a write up and pictures from the show with High on Fire, Bison BC and Priestess.
Black Cobra records
My neighbors for a 2 months. PRIESTESS is from Montreal. They play great classic sounding rock with quick guitar work and good clean sing songy vocals.
My tip jar, thats a nice big ole reefer nugget. Metal heads are pretty nice..
We didn't sell these. A nice girl in Chicago makes cupcakes for touring bands, the recipes are inspired by song titles and record names and stuff... there called
METALCAKES!!!! For Black Cobra she made some cakes based on the song "Sugar Water" off the Bestial album. These little bad boys are vanilla-horchata cakes and oh sooooo sweeeet, my mouth is watering just thinking about them..
